It is hard to describe social media performance with a single indicator. That is why Sociopack shows where you stand against your competitors and your relationship with your own audience as two separate scores.
Why two separate scores?
A brand’s success on social media depends on the answers to two different questions: Where do I stand against my competitors, and how interested is my own audience in me? These two questions can point in different directions. For example, you may have more followers than your competitors, yet your posts may receive few comments.
That is why Sociopack calculates two separate scores instead of a single total. This way you can see separately where you are strong and where you need to work.
What does the competitive score measure?
The competitive score measures how you perform compared with your competitors. The same metrics are evaluated for your accounts and for the competitor accounts you follow, and the result is shown on a single scale.
It helps to read this score together with competitor analysis: once you see how often your competitors post and which content gets a reaction, you also understand the reason behind the difference in the score.
What does the engagement score measure?
The engagement score measures how well you engage with your own audience. The reactions, comments and shares your posts receive show how interested your audience is in your content.
The metrics behind the scores
Both scores take the same core metrics into account:
- Follower growth rate
- Reactions
- Shares
- Comments
- Number of posts
- Reach
- Impressions
Sociopack collects these metrics from all the social media accounts you connect and evaluates them together.
How should you interpret the scores?
It is more useful to look at the scores as changes over time rather than as a snapshot of a single day. If your engagement score rises after a campaign, your content is reaching your audience. If your competitive score falls, it is time to look at what your competitors have been doing recently.
If you schedule your reports to be sent to your inbox regularly, you can follow these changes without missing them.
